Redeeming the Table
Meet Rhonda

Dear Story Warrior,

Welcome, welcome, welcome...
"Children are born into the world looking for someone looking for them," says Curt Thompson.
As you seek to engage your story, I want to welcome you to a place marked by radical hospitality and loving presence. A place set just for you. I have been looking for you.
I believe tables mirror our deepest longing: to belong, to be fully seen and accepted as our truest selves. We all yearn for tables where our presence is not merely tolerated but genuinely valued. Redeeming the Table IS that place. It is a deeply personal and storied space where every storyteller is seen and heard with delight, honor, and care... the very things we were created for.
I’ve been where you are. In 2017, I turned to The Allender Center in search of healing for the persistent emotional, personal, and relational pain I had carried for years. For decades, I had walked alongside hurting people in my family, friendships, full-time ministry, and among both single and married women, offering support while trying to make sense of my own journey. At the same time, I had been gathering fragments of my emotional beliefs—shaped by experiences and relationships—but they felt like scattered pieces of a picture without a guiding frame to bring them into focus. Narrative Focused Trauma Care (NFTC) not only provided the framework I had been searching for but also illuminated the deeper clarity of my calling. One of the core beliefs in Allender’s methodology is:
'You can’t take anyone further than you’ve been yourself.'
With that in mind, I chose to step into my own story, seeking to understand how patterns of relating and attachment wounds were shaped by my family of origin. These early experiences influenced the way I engaged with myself, others, the world, and even God—and had left me more wounded than whole.
I have never experienced anything as powerfully transformative as Storywork.
I have come home to myself through Story Work and found Love waiting for me there. I hope you will do the same as you join me at the table

A Hostess of Warriors,
Rhonda

P. S. Will you imagine with me... a table stretching as far as the eye can see? Laden with extravagant food and flowers, drinks spilling over, laughter and joyful tears. Shouts of welcome—'Sit by me!'—greet new guests as they arrive. Music plays beneath a canopy of stars, with lights strung between trees. An invitation once ignored has now been embraced by a beautifully broken, courageously grateful, and humbly hungry gathering. 'Come and see' the Table set before you, in the presence of your enemies, where the banner over you is only LOVE. A hush falls as the hostess steps forward, embodying Christ. A blessing is offered. Questions are spoken aloud, shaping this Table into a safe, storied space where wounds can be named and wept over. Here, love and acceptance are given unconditionally. Here, blessings replace curses. We watch, we bear witness, we sit in awe and worship—graced by this small yet sacred taste of the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living.
